BSNL SMS Validity Extension Voucher: BSNL advances its services (BSNL SMS Validity Extension) by enabling options for customers to increase their validity using SMS services.
About BSNL
Over the years, there have lots of doubts from people regarding the validity extension of the BSNL Prepaid Mobile Plan. Earlier, BSNL introduced Plan Voucher-based validity extension for all Prepaid Mobile Plans.
At that time, Mithram Plan customers could extend their validity by 180 days by recharging the Plan Voucher amount i.e., Recharge 49.
BSNL improvised its services by enabling options for customers to increase their validity using SMS services.
BSNL alerts to all its prepaid customers through SMS one week before prepaid plan expiry period reaches i.e. before Grace Period-1 starts or customer prepaid plan entering into GP1, the message in the format as:
“Dear Customer, Your plan validity expires on DD-MM-YY. Please get it extended by using a plan voucher of Rs immediately”.
On receiving SMS from BSNL customers who are having sufficient balance in their prepaid main account for the extension of validity 2-3 before the expiry of prepaid plan validity.
Validity extension on 1st day of GP1 (Grace period 1) immediately after the expiry of prepaid plan validity:
The customer who did not extend validity as above is due for entering into GP1 after the expiry of customer plan validity.
The customers who are having a sufficient balance in the main prepaid account can opt for this method to extend the validity, in the absence of response or inaction by the customer.
The plan validity of the customer may be extended on the 1st day of GP1 state after deduction of the plan voucher amount of the existing plan from the account balance and intimated accordingly.
All other terms and conditions will remain the same.
Extending BSNL Prepaid Number’s Validity via SMS
First of all, one has to find the recharge amount/validity extension voucher amount. Normally, when the validity is about to get expired, BSNL will notify the user through an SMS that contains details about the recharge amount.
If a user hasn’t got this detail, he/she may send an SMS- “PROFILE” to the number 52244. BSNL will respond with an SMS that contains the profile details of the user and the validity extension amount details.
The user will have to note this recharge amount now.
Suppose the recharge amount is 36 Rupees, refill your BSNL number with an amount more than 36 Rupees. For example, recharge it with 50 Rupees, so that there exists an amount greater than 36 Rupees in your account.
If you already have an amount greater than the required recharge amount in your account, then there is no need for this additional recharge. The next step is to send the BSNL validity extension SMS. The SMS format is as follows-
How to Extend BSNL Prepaid Mobile Number Validity Online
1. Head over to BSNL Portal by going to this link: portal2.bsnl.in/myportal/
2. Click on Recharge and enter details like Mobile Number, Email ID
3. On the next page, select PLAN > Validity Extension
4. Now you’ll be required to select your Plan and according to which you’ll have to pay for extending the validity.
5. You are required to know about your current plan before you select the plan for extending the validity. Do so 6. same, send one SMS from your phone – PROFILE to 52244 (Toll-Free)
7. The in-reply message will give you information about your current plan.
8. Once you have that information, go and select the same plan on the BSNL Portal site.

BSNL Validity Extension SMS Format
Just send the SMS- “Ext Validity” to the number 51505 (without the quotes). BSNL will respond with an SMS asking you to confirm your request.
Upon confirming it, the validity extension amount (36 Rupees in this case) will be deducted from your account balance and your validity period will be extended.
Compared to the online recharge method or retailer recharge method, this one is pretty easy and can be done right from home! Please make use of this method to extend the validity of your BSNL prepaid number.

However, the validity will be as per the migrated plan i.e. the customer has to top up / recharge for extension of validity when required.
4. How can I change my BSNL prepaid plan by SMS?
You can change /migrate to this plan from any other plan. Top up your main balance with a sufficient balance of 370 Rs. Then send SMS “PLAN BSNL429” to 123.
By doing so, you will get only 370 RS deducted from your main balance and 429 plan activated.
