Do you own any business centre or you are about to establish one ? don’t be worried, This article will help you to legalized your business, the aim of this article is to help those individuals who are interested in registering their business entity in Nigeria under part B of the companies and allied matters art (CAMA). This process is generally known as BUSINESS NAME REGISTRATION.
A Registered Business Name is one of the three (3) generally company structures which an individual can register in Nigeria. They are two (2) other incorporated companies and incorporated trustee.

To register a business name, here are the following steps and guide you need to follow:
FIRST STEP:
An applicant should apply for available check and reservation of the proposed business name through the CAC portals, after choosing his or her reserve name the commission (CAC) will conduct a search in its database to ensure that such name is not already in used by another person, fortunately, if the CAC approves the name then it will reserve the name for you for a 60-days period during this period it is expected that you will complete the registration process for your business name.

SECOND STEP:
Applicant must now submit or upload the duly completed statutory form with 2 sized passport photograph with other information such as
- Approved name of the business
- General nature of the business
- Address of the business
- Name, address occupation and other details of the proprietors of the business
- Signature of the proprietor
THIRD STEP:
Payment of CAC filing fees such payment can be done online or can also be completed in the deposit money bank (DMB).
FOURTH STEP:
Once the payment has been approved by the commission (CAC) you then submit the forms online, the CAC will review the document and if all is in order the commission (CAC) will then notify the registrant that the application has been approved and the business is now certified and business name certificate is ready for collection.
