This is to inform the general public and newly admitted students of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) that the authorities of the institution have announced the 2019/2020 matriculation ceremony.

FUTO Matriculation Ceremony
The 38th Matriculation Ceremony for the admission of fresh students in Federal University of Technology, Owerri has been scheduled to hold on Friday, March 6, 2020, by 11.00 am at the Convocation Arena, FUTO.
Please be informed as well that the Parents Management Forum (PMF) meeting, (meeting between Management, Parents and Guardians of the Matriculating Students) has been scheduled for 10.00 am, the same day at the Matriculation Arena.
The ceremony will mark the formal admission of 1st year students to pursue various academic disciplines in the University.

The Federal University of Technology Owerri is a federal government university located in Owerri West, the capital of Imo State. The University is bounded by the communities of Eziobodo, Umuchima, Ihiagwa, and Obinze, in Imo State, Nigeria. The Federal University of Owerri is the Oldest University of Technology in Nigeria and was established in 1980 by Executive fiat with the composition and appointment of the first provisional Council by Nigeria’s First Executive President, Shehu Shagari. It became the first of three such Universities set up by the Federal Government of Nigeria who sought to establish a University of Technology in each geo-political region and particularly in a State which did not have a conventional University.
