GIS Recruitment Application
This is to inform the general public and all interested and suitably qualified candidates that the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has commenced its 2020 Recruitment Application Exercise. (http://home.gis.gov.gh/).
GIS OBJECTIVES OF THE SERVICE
a) To ensure the effective administration and management of migration in the country; and
b) Contribute to national security
GIS FUNCTIONS OF SERVICE
1, The Service shall;
a) Subject to existing laws, examine travel document of persons entering or leaving the country through the borders;
b) Ensure the application and enforcement of laws relating to the immigration and employment of non-Ghanaians in the country;
c) Advise on and implement international co-operation agreements with other countries and international organizations on matters relating to migration;
d) Manage and patrol the borders of the country;
e) Through the Comptroller – General or the duly authorized representative of the Comptroller – General issue visas for entry into the country and permits for residence or work in the country; and
f) perform any other functions as required by law
2, The Comptroller – General shall act in consultation with the Minister in the performance of the function specified in (1)(e)
GIS Recruitment Requirements
All candidates are to satisfy the following requirements:
GENERAL DUTIES
- Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
- Must possess a first degree.
- Must have completed National Service.
- Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by 31st December 2020.
- Must be physically and medically fit.
- Must be of good character.
- Must not be bonded.
- Must have a minimum height of 173 cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163 cm (5ft 4inch) for females.
LAWYERS
- Must be a Ghanaian citizen by birth with no criminal record.
- Must have served 2 – 5 years at the Bar.
- Must have completed National Service.
- Must be computer Literate.
- Must be of a minimum age of 21 and not more than 35 years by 31st December 2020.
- Must be physically and medically fit.
- Must be of good character.
- Must not be bonded.
- Must have a minimum height of 173 cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163 cm (5ft 4inch) for females.
Job Title: Dressmakers/Tailors
QUALIFICATIONS
All candidates are to satisfy the following requirement:
DRESSMAKERS/TAILORS
- Must be Ghanaian by birth with no criminal record,
- Must possess any of the following
- NVTI Certificate
- GES Intermediate Certificate in Tailoring,
- GES or COTVET Certificate II in Tailoring
- Must be of a minimum age of 18 and not more than 30 years by December 31, 2021.
- Must be physically and medically fit.
- Must be of good character.
- Must not be bonded.
- Must have a minimum height of 173 cm (5ft 8inch) for Males and 163 cm (5ft 4inch) for females
How to Apply for Ghana Immigration Service Recruitment
The first step in applying is to purchase an Electronic Voucher at a cost of One Hundred Ghana Cedis (GHS 100.00) from the various branches of the GCB Bank Ltd across the country.
After the purchase of the E-Voucher, the applicant must go online using the address: http://www.gisrecruitments.com/ to fill in all the required information.
Applicants must note that they must enter the serial number of the voucher and fill out the online application. Upload a passport size photograph and click to submit.
SSD Code: Applicants can dial the short code *422*473#, follow the prompt and allow payment via mobile money on all mobile networks.
After payment is successful, a Serial Number & Pincode will be sent via SMS alert to the payee/applicant. After receiving the Serial Number & Pincode the applicant must go online using the address: http://www.gisrecruitments.com/ to fill in all the required information.
It is important to note that the Ghana Immigration Service no longer sells forms for enlistment or recruitment.
IMPORTANT: Kindly Supply genuine data about yourself (Bio & Educational). Any form of false data submitted would not be treated lightly by GIS command, and defaulters would be apprehended and prosecuted.
GIS RECRUITMENT E-VOUCHERS
Make sure to buy your e-voucher from any of the Ghana Commercial Bank branches across the country whenever they are made available. You will need the serial number and the pin code from the e-voucher before starting the registration process.
GIS RECRUITMENT TRAINING
Only applicants who are successful in the Screening Examination will be invited for training.
