The Vice Chancellor of Igbinedion University, Okada (IUO) on behalf of the Council and senate has the pleasure to invite you to the 21st Convocation Ceremony.
Honouring the Distinguished
The ceremonies will be graced by the presence of illustrious guest speakers and honourary degree awardees, including Senator Dr. George Akume and Dr. Felicia Chinwe Mogo, whose contributions to society and academia have been exemplary.

Convocation Play
The festivities commence with a Convocation Play titled “Our Husband Has Gone Mad Again” by Ola Rotimi. This theatrical masterpiece will be showcased at the University Arts Theatre, Main Campus, Okada, precisely at noon.

Awarding Degrees and Prizes
The ceremony for the Award of First Degrees and Prizes is scheduled, featuring the First Convocation Lecture. Dr. Felicia Chinwe Mogo, the founder/president of the African Marine Environment Sustainability Initiative (AFMESI) and a renowned member of the UN Group of Experts on Marine Environment, will enlighten attendees with her lecture on “The Changing Higher Education Landscape: Implications for Emerging Workplace Dynamics” at 10:00 AM in the Main Auditorium.

Conferring Honorary Degrees
On this day, Igbinedion University honours the achievements of distinguished individuals by conferring Honorary Degrees. Senator Dr. George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, will deliver the Second Convocation Lecture on “Public and Private Sector Intervention in Tertiary Education in Nigeria: Stimulus for Innovative Research and Development” at the Main Auditorium at 10:00 AM.

Thanksgiving Service
The week’s events will draw to a close with a Thanksgiving Service at the Chapel of Grace, IUTH Campus, at 10:00 AM, reflecting on the successes and blessings of the academic year.
