“Following a detailed investigation and careful analysis of the highly-successful 2022 UTME, and with due consultation (resulting in gracious concession) with the National Examination Council (NECO) concerning the timetable of the council’s ongoing SSCE, JAMB has scheduled a Mop-up UTME from August 6, 2022, in some selected locations across the nation.
Following a thorough investigation of the conduct of the 2022 UTME in ten centres spread across five states of the federation (as indicated below), where examination misconduct was revealed, it became essential to cancel the results of all candidates who sat the examination in the ten centres.
The Board also took note of the fact that some innocent candidates had to sit their exams at these locations.
As a result, all candidates who took the UTME at the following centres have been rescheduled for the 6th of August, 2022, Mop-up UTME. Candidates who were absent from such centres for whatever reason are NOT qualified for the mop-up examination. The Centers are as follows:

- 142 candidates who were unable to take the UTME due to fingerprint anomalies;
- 28 candidates who were unable to take the examination due to technical difficulties in several centres; and
- 1,799 unsuccessful BVM candidates who were recaptured at testing centres.
The Board affirms that examination fraud will not be tolerated and that it will do everything in its power to counteract it. In the same vein, the Board reaffirms its commitment to conducting legitimate matriculation examinations for all tertiary institutions in the country, while maintaining the sanctity of its examination process in order to uphold the reputation of the Board’s integrity.

iii. Candidates who were unable to sit for the UTME owing to the clash of timetables of the UTME and the then ongoing NABTEB examinations and whose particulars have been verified and supplied directly to JAMB by NABTEB, and
iv. Candidates who have been ascertained by JAMB to have experienced genuine rescheduling/technical problems as was the case in 30 of the 760 centres used for the examination.
“The rescheduled candidates are to print fresh examination notification slips containing the venue and time of the examination. The slips are to be printed from the JAMB website https://www.jamb.gov.ng using the candidates’ registration number from 6th August, 2022.
“The Board strongly advises candidates to avoid supplying their vital information including registration number to fraudsters who are abound especially in cybercafe(s), tutorial centres springing up almost everywhere in the nation as a result of the illicit activities of examination syndicates.
CBT centres approved by JAMB which are consistently monitored are relatively more secured for printing examination notification slips by candidates who cannot print such on their own,” the statement concluded.
