What Did You Hear about K-12?
K–12 (spoken as “k twelve”, “k through twelve”, or “k to twelve”), from kindergarten to 12th grade, is an American expression that indicates the range of years of publicly supported primary and secondary education found in the United States.
This is similar to publicly supported school grades prior to college in several other countries, such as Afghanistan, Australia, Canada, Ecuador, China, Egypt, India, Iran, the Philippines, South Korea and Turkey.
At K12, the mission is to help students reach their full potential through inspired teaching and personalized learning. When students enroll in a K12-powered school, their families become part of a nationwide community of Learning Coaches, teachers, staff, and students.

K12 Student Application Account Setup Overview
Creating a student’s Online School Account can only be completed by the student’s assigned Learning Coach. The Learning Coach has the ability to create a separate login for all of their students regardless of their grade level.
Setting Up the K12 Student Login Account
The Student Online School Account Set Up process can be completed immediately after the Learning Coach Account has been created.
K12 Student Login Procedures
- Click the Set Up Student Account button
- You will land on the Student Account Setup page. Select your student’s name from the left column of the screen to get started.
- Create or select your Student’s User Name: You can click the Suggest a User Name button to use the auto-generated user name created for your student. You can choose this pre-selected option or create your student’s user name.
- Create your Student’s Password: Create a password for your student that is easy for them to remember. The student’s password must be at least 8 characters long. You will need to enter the password two times to ensure that the system has captured the entered information correctly.
- Once completed, click the Save button to capture the information you have selected. Click Continue to proceed with the final steps!

Setting Up the Student Account by logging into the Online School
- Login to the Online School using your Learning Coach account credentials: If you bypassed the Set Up Student Account button after completing the Account Setup process for your Learning Coach Account, the pop-up box below will be present once you are logged into the Online School.
- Click the Create Student Account button
- You will land on the My Account page: Here, you will need to create your student(s) account credentials; these account credentials will be used by your student to access the Online School and complete school work during the school year.
- Create or select your Student’s User Name: You can click the Suggest a User Name link to have an auto-generated user name created for your student. You can choose this pre-selected option or create your student’s user name.
- Create your Student’s Password: Create a password for your student that is easy for them to remember. The student’s password must be at least 8 characters long. You will need to enter the password two times to ensure that the system has captured the entered information correctly.
Confirm that your email address and home phone number are listed correctly in the Email and Phone fields. Once all fields have been completed, click the Save button.
Success! Your student’s K12 Student Login Online School account has been created! Your student will now have the ability to login to their account to access their courses and complete school work!
