The Nigerian Army hereby informs the general public that the Nigerian Army Recruitment for tradesmen/women and non-tradesmen/women have successfully commenced 85RRI recruitment intake for 2023 session soldier. Applicants for Short Service Combatant Course 50/2023 and Direct Short Service Commission Course 30/2023 has also commenced.

Nigerian Army Recruitment Basic Requirements

1). Applicants shall be of Nigerian origin by birth

2). Candidate must possess a minimum of 4 credits in not more than 2 sittings in either WASSCE/GCE/NECO or NABTEB. Hence, one of the credits must be the English Language.

3). In addition to the qualifications above, those applying as tradesmen women must also possess OND/Trade Test/City and Guild Certificate. Details are available on the www.army.mil.ng.

4). Candidate must be between the ages of 18 – 22 years for non-tradesmen women while tradesmen women must be between the ages of 18 – 26years by 1st June 2018.

5). Candidate must be free of any criminal conviction.

6). You must be medically, physically and psychologically fit

7). Not be less than 1.65 meters and 1.56 meters tall for male and female applicants respectively.

8). You are to print out your submitted form which you will present at the exam screening center.

NA Method of Application

The Basic Recruit Military Training for Trades and Non-Tradesmen is a Short Period Training for people with and without trade skills to enlist in to the Nigerian Army as Trade and Non-trade soldiers. The training last for a period of 6 months of training and is applicable to candidates who possess a minimum of Secondary School Certificate.

2, Create a user account to enable you login. your username must be a funtional email

3, Complete the application form, submit online and print a copy. Then, print and complete the guarantor form as appropriate

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

• There will be no Pre-selection Computer Based Test to be conducted on candidates.
• No special centre for recruitment.
• There will no Zonal Screening Exercise.
• All screening of potential recruits will be done at the candidates’ respective state of origin.
• Any candidates who falsifies or forges his/her results and discovered even during training at Deport NA would be withdrawn.
• Candidates are advised in their own interest not to give any form of gratification or inducement to any person or group of persons to assist them in the recruitment exercise.

Nigerian Army Short Service Commission(SSC)

The Short Service Commission (SSC) is a type of commission in the Nigerian Army which is open to both civilians and serving military personnel. The Course provides the avenue for the enlistment of degree holders who desire to the join the officers rank of the Nigerian Army as Combatant. Training period for this type of commission is usually 9 months of intensive military training and successful candidates are commissioned into the rank of Second Lieutenant.

Nigerian Army Direct Short Service Commission(DSSC)

The Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) is a type of commission in the Nigerian Army which is open to both civilians and serving military personnel. The training provides the avenue for the enlistment of degree holders who are professionals in specified fields. Training period for this type of commission is usually 6 months of intensive military training and successful candidates are commissioned as Lieutenant.

SHORT SERVICE COMBATANT COMMISSION COURSE 49/2022 | Nigerian Army Short Service Combatant Recruitment

Applications are invited from eligible Nigerians for commission into the Nigerian Army (NA) as Short Service Combatant (SSC) Commission officers. The SSC is open to both civilians and serving military personnel. However, only serving military personnel sponsored to civil institutions by any of the Services of the Armed Forces shall be considered.

DIRECT SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION COURSE 28/2022 | Nigerian Army Direct Short Service Commission Recruitment

Applications are invited from eligible Nigerians for commission into the Nigerian Army (NA) as Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) officers. The DSSC is open to both civilians and serving military personnel. Only serving military personnel sponsored to civil institutions by any of the Services of the Nigerian Armed Forces shall be considered.

Nigerian Army Recruitment Entry Requirement

All applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

1. a. Be a Nigerian as defined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of
2. Nigeria 1999 as amended.
3. b. Be a male or female between the ages of 23 and 27 by January 2022.
4. c. Be medically, mentally and physically fit according to Nigerian Army Standards.
5. d. Be recommended and attested to his/her good character by at least 2 recognizable referees who is either a Local Government Chairman/Secretary or an officer of the Armed Forces not below the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel and equivalent or an Assistant Commissioner of Police and above who must hail from the applicant’s state of origin. Passport photographs of referees must be affixed to the letter of attestation.
6. e. Candidates must submit a Letter of Attestation from their former institutions.
7. f. Measure in height at least 1.68m (for male) and 1.65m (for female).
8. g. Must not have been convicted by any court of law. Military personnel must not have any disciplinary case andmust be confirmed so bythe Commanding Officer/Commander.
9. h. Possess at least a first degree with not less than Second Class Lower Division or HND of not less than Lower Credit in the arts, sciences or humanities from accreditedinstitution of learning.Courses of study must also be accredited at the time of study.
10. i. Possess valid birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital or Local Government Council or valid age declaration.
11. j. Possess a valid certificate of state of origin.
12. k. Applicants (other than serving members of the Armed Forces) must possess NYSC discharge certificate or a valid certificate of exemption.Applicants completing NYSC in 2022 are eligible to apply.
13. l. Only post secondary academic credentials obtained fromYear2015 to date will be considered.
14. m. Applicants must present validcontact addresses and telephone numbers of parent/guardians and Next of Kin.
15. n. Candidates must not have any body inscriptions or tattoos.
16. o. Candidates must tender all original copies of educational certificates (primary to post-secondary).
17. p. Service personnel must present valid military identity cards and letters of recommendations by their Commanding Officers/Commanders. They must also present valid letter(s) of official sponsorship in tertiary academic institutions. Additionally, they must have served for a minimum period of 5 years in the Armed Forces of Nigeria.All service personnel applicants are under obligation to declare their service status on application as required by Harmonised Terms and Conditions of Service for the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Failing to do so constitutes an offence in addition to disqualification at any stage.
18. q. Candidates must not be members of any cult/secret society/fraternity.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

SSC will be granted for 15 years.Ten years will be on active list renewable thereafter for a period not more than 5 years. No extension shall be granted after the fifteenth year of commission except on conversion to regular combatant commission where applicable.

1. a. Officer cadets who successfully complete the military training shall be granted the rank of second lieutenant with seniority effective date of commencement of cadet training.
2. b. Conversion to regular combatant commission is not automatic. It is based on availability of vacancy and other criteria that are or will be in force from time to time.
3. c. All graduating officer cadets must sign an acceptance of the terms and conditions governing the Short Service Combatant Commission before they are granted commission into the Nigerian Army.
4. d. The reckonable period of service for civilians who become commissioned officers will be based on the date of commencement of cadet training while that of military personnel applicants would be effective date of enlistment.

3.  (2)  You will be redirected to the page where you can read the qualification criteria for the ongoing SSC and DSSC courses.
4.  (3)  Click on the “Apply Now” button for the SSC or DSSC as per your qualification.
5.  (4)  At the prompt, you will be required to select if you are serving/have served in the Armed Forces of Nigeria, choose the appropriate option and proceed.
6.  (5)  If you do not have an account click on “Sign Up” (a verification will be sent to you email) or enter you login details and log in.
7.  (6)  Fill out the form and ensure all required documents listed below are uploaded:
8.     (a) Passport photograph.
9.     (b) Educational certificates.
10.     (c) Evidence of membership of any professional body.
11.     (d) Certificate of state of origin.
12.     (e) Birth certificate or age declaration.
13.  (7)   For DSSC applicants, note that the qualification selections available to you are dependent on the preferred corps selected.
14. b. Print Out.Applicants must print out their online generated photo-slip on completion of their application. The first page is to be signed by the Registrar of any Court of Law while the second page is to be signed by the applicants’ Local Government Chairman/Secretary or any military officer of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel or equivalent and above who hails from an applicant’s state of origin. Successful applicants would be required to take a written examination at selected examination centres selected by applicants or assigned as appropriate. Successful candidates would also present their printed photo-slips at Examination Centres and subsequently to the Selection Board during interview.
