The force said it has released the names of candidates who scaled through to the Direct Short Service Commission Course
Such persons are to get ready for training starting from Wednesday, March 24, at the Nigerian Naval College, Onne in Rivers.
All participants are hereby informed that the Nigerian Navy DSSC List has been released. Applicants are hereby advised to check their names with the guideline provided below.
The announcement was made in Abuja by Commodore Suleman Dahun, the Navy’s director of information, The Guardian reports
The full list of successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 28 was on Thursday, March 18, released by the Nigerian Navy.
Daily Nigerian reports that candidates who scaled through the exercise were told to present themselves for training at the Nigerian Naval College, Onne in Rivers by Wednesday, March 24, at 8am.
Applicants who sat for the Nigerian Navy Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 28 Aptitude Test are hereby notified to check www.joinnigeriannavy.com for the list of successful candidates for the Interview. The shortlisted candidates are divided into 2 Batches of 18 States each. Batch A interview is scheduled for 16 – 23 Dec 20 while Batch B including the FCT interview is from 27 Dec 20 to 3 Jan 21. Shortlisted candidates are to report for Interview at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School Navy Town, Ojo, Lagos State on 16 and 27 Dec 20 respectively.
The Interview will involve the screening of academic certificates and credentials, medical and physical fitness tests, written and oral examinations. Candidates are to come along with the following items:
a. Original and photocopies of academic certificates and credentials
including:
(1) First School Leaving Certificate and Senior Secondary School
Certificates (WAEC, NECO etc), with scratch cards for verification of
results (original copy of West African Examination Council Certificate is
compulsory).
(2) Certificates from tertiary institutions.
(3) Federal Ministry of Education authentication of foreign certificates.
(4) NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.
(5) Birth Certificate/Declaration of Age.
(6) Certificate of Local Government of Origin.
(7) Parent/Guardian Consent Form.
(8) Recommendation Letter from Unit (Serving Military and Para-Military
Personnel).
(9) Two (2) recent coloured passport-sized photographs.
b. National Identity Card/Acknowledgement Slip( mandatory requirement).
c. Writing materials (biro, pencil, sharpener and eraser).
d. Two pairs of face masks.

f. Three pairs of white (unmarked) vests and navy blue shorts.
g. A pair of white canvas shoes/trainers.
h. Two bed sheets and pillow cases.
i. A set of cutlery.
j. Toiletries.
Note: All the processes at the selection interview are FREE OF CHARGE. Candidates are advised to be wary of scammers and refrain from giving money to any individual under any guise.
Candidates who fail to report by midnight of 16 and 27 December 2020 for Batches A and B respectively will be disqualified. ALL CANDIDATES MUST REPORT FOR THE INTERVIEW WITH THE BATCHES INDICATED OTHERWISE THEY WOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED.

CANDIDATE ARRIVAL VENUE: All candidates are to report for training at Nigerian Naval College, Onne Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Nigerian Navy DSSC Successful Candidate: Accordingly, these candidates are to report for training at the Nigerian Naval College, Onne, Port Harcourt on Monday, 2 March 2020 from 0800 (8 am).
DSSC REQUIREMENT FOR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
All Candidates are to come along with the originals and photocopies of their:
- Birth certificate/declaration of age
- Letter of indigeneship
- Secondary school testimonials
- Certificates (WAEC/NECO/GCE)
- NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.
Candidates are to also come along with the following items:
- Two pairs of white shorts.
- Two pairs of white trousers.
- Two white shirts (long sleeves).
- Two pairs of white socks.
- Two pairs of white canvas shoes.
- One lounge suite (dark colour).
- Two pairs of blue shorts and white round neck vests.
- One pair of black trousers.
- One belt (preferably black).
- One pair of black cover shoes.
- Black polish brushes, shaving kit, and toiletries.
- Two white bed sheets and pillowcases for 8 spring bed.
- Four recent passport photographs (coloured).
Female candidates should come along with the following items in addition:
- Two pairs of trouser suit.
- Two lounge skirts.
- One pair of black low heeled cover shoes.
- Two pairs of black or blue short tights.
All successful candidate should also note that;
- Any candidate who fails to present originals of the stated documents will not be accepted into the College.
- Candidates will not be allowed to receive visitors once taken on strength and will not be allowed to leave the College premises for the first three months of training.
- Candidates and their families/loved ones are to please note the above for strict compliance.
