The University of Jos (UNIJOS) has announced the resumption of academic activities following the temporary suspension due to the 2023 General Elections. The university had initially planned to resume on the 20th of March, 2023, but the announcement of gubernatorial and House of Assembly election results in Plateau State has caused a slight delay.

The University Senate at UNIJOS initially approved the suspension of academic activities from Monday, 20th February to Sunday, 19th March 2023, due to the 2023 General Elections. Furthermore, the second semester lectures for the 2020/2021 academic session were scheduled to commence on 20th March 2023.
However, the announcement of the gubernatorial and House of Assembly election results in Plateau State has not yet concluded, prompting a slight change in the resumption date. Consequently, the university has informed its community that normal academic activities will now resume on Wednesday, 22nd March 2023.
